Outdoor Equipment Reviews

My choice of what I wear and put in my backpack is critical to my success and safety. So I take a lot time to choose every piece of hardware and software. I always field test new gear well before it goes on a big expedition. If I get new shell pants I'll wear them on a long climb to make sure they don't bunch or create wear points under my pack's hip belt. Recently, on a hut ski trip I had a brand new pair of AT climbing skins fail because the "glue batch was bad". You can imagine how much of a disaster that would have been on Elbrus at 5000m!

Beginning soon I'll be featuring and reviewing some of the critical equipment that I take on my adventures. Gear will include AT Skis, Backpacks, Ice Axes, Rain and Wind Shells and more.
