The Great Plains and Southwest
After completing Mt. Elbert in Colorado, the team headed straight to New Mexico to start the southwestern and Great Plains leg. They got a break from the really big mountains over Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas, but it was back to alpining it in the southwest.
To beat the heat in Arizona and Texas, the team did two night climbs managing to do an epic 5,350 vertical feet and 19 miles in 48 hours. During this leg, the team grabbed eight high points in four days.
- New Mexico (Wheeler Peak) - Oklahoma (Black Mesa) - Kansas (Mt. Sunflower) - Nebraska (Panorama Point) - South Dakota (Harvey Peak) - North Dakota (White Butte) - Arizona (Humphrey's Peak) - Texas (Guadelupe Peak)

June 16 - Arizona and Texas
Whew! The stats for the last 48 hours:
- Two states (AZ and TX) - 19 miles hiked - 5,350 vertical ft
It was too hot in Texas to climb during the day so the team went at night and witnessed a gorgeous sunrise on Guadalupe. America is awesome.
